Minutes, July 1, 2010 Board Meeting

 The meeting began at 8 p.m. at Daniel DiMattia Memorial Recreation Center .

Attending – Vendemia, Kakiou, Kozel, Frey, Gush.

Absent: Cogan, Eichler, Michelle and Anthony Palombo

Minutes of the last meeting were read by Vendemia, once corrected they are to be posted online and on the bboard.

Motion –   Kakiou   Second - Kozel   Passed Unanimous

Financial             Cheryl Kozel read Payroll and Register reports.

Motion –  Frey    Second -   Kakiou  Passed Unanimous

Financial             Michelle Palombo was not present to report on main account, operating expenses and other liabilities.

Old Business      Discussed

Kids Party, as of yet no on has volunteered to chair. Connie Czambel and Jamie Lorich will be approached, should they decline the idea will be dropped for this year.

Party contract and pricing, particularly as it pertains to non-members. Vendemia  asked everyone to look over it before next meeting.

Rudy Zetz/Adult Party, some discussion was made to roll this into the  Luau, but DJ was presented as better idea for luau. Also time factors are working against us to hold this event.

Vendemia proposed July 31st as the date for the 2010 Luau. 

Gush will call to set up with DJ.

DJ location to change to upper terrace under a tent.

Cost $25.00 for LISTED Family Members w/covered dish, Guests and non-members $10.00 Under 18, $15.00 18 and over.

Membership Report

Kakiou brought copies of the new sign in sheet and discussed need to have all entering listed separately and non-member fees listed clearly.   Also reminded us of the pro-rated joining fees (1/3 per month) and encouraged us to use them to signup new members.

New Business

Spaghetti Dinner Fund raiser previously proposed by Eichler was discussed. It was agreed that this would be a good fall or early winter fund raiser and would be brought up at a future meeting.

Vendemia spoke about the need to improve communications at large in the short term. Communications includes revisiting of the rules; both written and unwritten.

One being the children under five and three – All discussed that they are part of the family package. An individual with very young children needs to have a family membership.  There is nothing on the current membership form or page indicating that small children are free or can be brought in by someone with a Single membership.

Since there is no complete list and several unwritten rules like the one above and board members getting free parties, ect… have changed over the years, she is going to convene a group to gather these and codify them over the winter.  This will help solve some of the misunderstandings that occur when board and general members follow different rules.

Vendemia discussed a general membership meeting to be held on August 11th at 2p.m. This will be a SWOT meeting and all members are encouraged to bring a covered dish. This will be communicated to the membership by email, bboard, web and phone tree.

Fund Raising Flea Market was proposed for Saturday August 21st. All members are encouraged to donate good, sellable items for this event. All left over items will be donated. This event will be communicated to the membership by email, bboard, web and phone tree.
